A short Summer course for anyone who is considering a career as a professional actor. The course has been designed to offer people practical acting experience and realistic advice on drama school and life within the industry from professional, established actors. It is designed around our regular London act for course.
The course will run by 2 established actors that run the regular act for course with the support of a student from The Oxford School of Drama who came through act up. On the final day we will also be joined by a tutor from The Oxford School of Drama.
What happens afterwards? : act up offers a free after care service and reiterates that anyone who has taken the course can call or email to seek further advice after the course has finished. The course also has a follow on course (act for two in London) where the skills explored and developed in the first course can be taken one step further as well as being able to provide one to one tuition for anyone wanting to audition for drama school. People that have taken our act for courses have so far repeatedly gained entry to the following drama schools(three year diploma and post grad. courses): ALRA, The American Academy of Dramatic Arts (New York), ArtsED, Birmingham School of Acting, Bristol Old Vic,Central School of Speech & Drama, Drama Studio London, E15, Guildford School of Acting, Lamda, Manchester Metropolitan University School of Theatre, Mountview, Rose Bruford, The Oxford School of Drama, The Poor School, RADA, The Stella Adler Studio of Acting (New York) and Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama.
It's a 4 day Summer course with a maximum group size of 20. The course also includes an optional trip to the theatre.
