Getting to the Academy
Just got the most wonderful news, that I have been cast as Angelo in The Comedy of Errors at the Open Air Theatre, Regent's Park this summer. Oh my days, I am so excited, can't quite believe to be honest. Keep having to pinch myself! I owe such a lot of this to Act Up, because the course I did with you before going to drama school really did cement the idea of being a professional actor into my head, and here is the result!"

Dear Gemma, how are you?

It's been a while since I have spoken to you (perhaps coz I've been in hiding at The Oxford School of Drama's Intense training). So I've just graduated and thought I'll let you know that after attending your act for classes which really put me on my journey to becoming a professional actor I have secured my first professional job with ITV1. I'm filming with David Jason on Albert's Memorial which I think should be on around Christmas....then who knows - it's a funny old world...acting! I hope act up is going well and now that I have moved back to London it would be lovely to go for a coffee some time. Please do give me a shout when you're free.

All the best wishes and lots of love, Hasina Haq”
Hi Gemma,

“Just wanted to let you know that I have been offered and accepted a place on the 1 year Acting Course at Oxford. Just wanted to say a really big thank you. As I have said previously, the act up workshop gave me a great deal of much needed focus, it was an incredible experience and if it hadn't have been for the workshop I would not be in this position. This really is a dream come true for me, so thanks again for all your help and if you could pass on my regards and thanks to all the guys leading the workshop it would be greatly appreciated, and who knows, maybe I will get to say thank you in person at some point soon.

“Hope you are well.

“Warm regards, Emma Deegan”

Emma participated in our Outreach programme in Nottingham.
Me again,

“Just also wanted to say thanks for all your help and words of wisdom over the last few years. I wouldn't be anywhere near this stage without them.

“Act up is a fantastic course and the very fact I've got into drama school is proof that it works. I can't praise it enough so thankyou xx
