act for is aimed at anyone who is considering seeking a career as a professional actor. The course will focus on: the use and development of the voice, movement, improvisation, character work and text study. Encouraging you to start realistically thinking about a career as an actor, increasing your self-confidence and developing and strengthening your acting skills in a supportive environment.
We will also ensure that you are prepared for the next stage in your career. If you are considering drama school we will discuss the options, their entry requirements and available funding.
Participants that have taken the act for course have so far gained entry to the following drama schools (three-year diploma and post grad.): ALRA, The American Academy of Dramatic Arts (New York), ArtsED, Birmingham School of Acting, Bristol Old Vic, Central School of Speech & Drama, Drama Studio London, E15, Guildford School of Acting, Lamda, Manchester Metropolitan University School of Theatre, Mountview, Rose Bruford, The Oxford School of Drama, The Poor School, RADA, The Stella Adler Studio of Acting (New York) and Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama.
If you have decided against drama school we will discuss the alternatives with you.
It's a 3-hour, seven-week course with a maximum group size of 12. The course also includes an optional trip to the theatre.

Our requirement for enrolment you must be aged 18 or over, with previous acting experience in the last 5 years and hoping to one day become a professional actor.
